Brain donation

I need you all to confirm something for me. Workout clothing is ridiculously expensive!

I get emails daily from companies like Lululemon, Athleta, and Skirt Sports advertising new items and amazing new clothing that I should buy and "hey, come check out our great junk that only lottery winners can afford".

Yesterday I received an email with this image in it:

I really like #3. Let's check out how much it costs, shall we?

ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY EFFING DOLLARS! FOR AN EFFING JACKET! WHAT THE EFF!?

Oh and Lululemon has this awesome purple scarf for sale. I could use a scarf for running in Winter and it's my favorite color.

Yeah...it's $42. For that price, it better do the running for me.

And this? This "layering tank" from Athleta? This regular, ol' racerback (my favorite kind) tank top?

Thirty Four buckaroos. In fact, their website won't even let you search "by price". I was curious what the least expensive item in the store is, but nope.

Because it's kind of fun going down my wish list of things I can't afford, let's keep going.
$90

$118

So, anyhow, you get my drift. Are enough people really buying these things that these companies think these prices are reasonable?! I'll just keep on wishing...and shopping for workout clothes at Target.

And now, because that was kind of depressing and also what kind of week would it be if I didn't share some of the amazingness I've found on Pinterest lately, I bring to you...some funny shit!

I was watching I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant a week or so ago and it literally made me want to pull my brain out through my nostrils...and donate it to those women.

There are so many people in my life who have no idea they have an Emily-created nickname. I would like to note, however, that Hot Gym Guy is no longer one of these people ;-)

I thought I wished Pippi could laugh...but then I
remembered she sees me naked.

Umm...yeah. I need these.

Have you seen anything amazingly awesome lately that I need to see?

Are you annoyed by how expensive workout clothing is?

  1. I HATE how expensive workout clothes are! Hubs bought me a shirt I had been coveting for Shirt Sports for Christmas and I hate that I know how much it cost because it was crazy expensive!!! But I do love it and feel fast in it. I haven't seen anything super funny, but I love the ones you found, I just laughed out loud in the parents room at my daughter's dance class, consequently receiving many odd looks which made me laugh harder!

  2. I feel you on this, girl! It's super annoying. I don't even spend that kind of money on clothes I won't sweat in.

The 1 of 2 lululemon outlets is a bus ride away from me and I really need to go. But even the sale price is going to depress me.

  3. I can't spend that much on something I'll just drench in sweat. Besides, I don't need to look cute. I'm an old married lady. :)

I love I Didn't Know I was Pregnant. Only in America can you be so fat and stupid that you give birth in a toilet.

  4. I want those outlet stickers!

Have you read the crazy stuff about Lululemon? Google it, you'll be glad you don't buy their products.

  5. I never actually thought about what that stuff costs. I always buy it on sale or on Amazon. Post-winter clearance is how I got my warmest winter stuff (that won't fit this winter not that I'm running anyways). Oh, and Lululemon is one of the worst offenders on price. I've never seen I Didn't Know I was Pregnant, but how would you not notice when the baby visibly kicks? I get not knowing until 4 or 5 months, but 9?

  6. Those companies are wack. Ross Dress for Less and target continues to provide me with perfectly fine workout clothes. I had a parent once tell me she didn't know she was pregnant. She was morbidly obese and thought it was gas. EW.

  7. I usually get my workout clothes at Marshalls. I wish I could afford a pair of Lululemon running tights...but then again, I'd probably be too afraid to wear them, I'd covet and save them for "something special", because I paid so much for them....

  8. I always buy my stuff on sale or using a discount at my local running store....or free by running races.

"literally made me want to pull my brain out through my nostrils" Best phrase ever.

  9. I always feel like this when I see cute running clothes or purses that I like. Why is everything I "love" always over $100?! TJ Maxx and Marshall's are pretty much my best friend when it comes to workout clothes. They get a pretty decent selection of my favorite brands.
