It strikes again

After not experiencing any symptoms from my supposed Patulous Eustachian Tube in a few weeks, I got hit hard once again this past week. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the holiday stress or holiday eating, or something having to do with the holidays, since last time it happened was right after Thanksgiving.

I've done tons and tons of research on the topic and have decided that (I assume) the type of dizziness I experience (yes, there are different types. I bet you didn't even know it!) is called nonsyncope nonvertigo dizziness. It's difficult to explain how it feels, but it's not as if the room is spinning, as with vertigo. My running has suffered this week, as has my mood and the way I feel. All I really want to do lately is sleep, which is very unlike me.

Don't worry, Mom. I like to sleep too.

Although I've succumbed to the fact that this is something I'll likely have to live with for the rest of my life, I'm considering going to get a second opinion from an ENT not in the hospital. I just can't stomach another $100 hospital fee. Jerks. If there's something I can do about it, I want it DONE!

Ok, onto happier times! I finally finished Mockingjay on New Years Eve, so I can say I read the entire series in 2011. (It only took me about three months to finish the last book. I blame A.D.D.) :)

And now I really need someone to talk about it with! It did not end the way I expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. You??

I also learned how to share books via Kindle, which is a pretty fantastic development. Anyone have a Kindle and wanna share? I need a new book to read now.

Pinterest made me do it :)

  1. Boo to dizziness! I can't believe it took you that long to finish Mockingjay. I read it one day, haha.

I just started the Game of Thrones series. I'm on book 2 and it's fantastic. Each one is like 800 pages, so it could take you years :P

  2. Ugh, dizziness is the freaking worst. Right now I'm sick, but I'd rather have this than vertigo. Hang in there!

I LOVED the HG series! I read them all in about a week (the one right before the marathon). I just couldn't stop!

Have you read the Dragon Tattoo series? Amazing!

The Hunger series were great! Time to bust out the cookbook :)

  4. I loved the ending. I loved that they were all still damaged instead of some pretty bow. I'm actually feeling a major yen to reread the HG books. I can't wait for the movie!

I have a Nook, so we can't share. Have you checked if your library has an ebook lending program? My state has a massive one and that's where I get most of my ebooks. I hated the Dragon Tattoo books (I have no stomach for graphic rape), but I have been meaning to start Game of Thrones. Have you read Divergent or Wither? Those are my other favorite YA dystopian novels.

  5. Oh, I am so sorry you have to deal with that dizziness :(. I can't even imagine what that is like. I hope it gets better soon.

I loved the Hunger Games and I actually think she did a good job finishing the story. I know a lot of people didn't like the last book but I loved them all :)

  6. Since I finished the hunger games bOoks, I have been struggling to find a replace ment. What I am currently reading is Emile zola's the fat and the thin. I got it for free on kindle. But got the recommendation from Anthony Bourdain's show. One of his must reads for foodies, I guess.

The other book I have on the list is Shantaram, which I actually bought on impulse because a friend recommended it highly. I think it's a true story. I can lend that to you once im done.

The third one I hAve on is Water for Elephants. Which is free on the Kindle owners Library.

  7. Dizziness sucks! I was diagnosed with it last year but it has gradually gotten better. I hope the same for you.

I wish we could share! EReader to Kindle doesn't seem to work! I get a lot of ebooks from the library but you have 2 weeks to read them and I am not a fast reader! I must read Hunger Games!

  8. Hello spoiler alert Sarah!!

I rationed out the third book like it was my last bit of food in the arena. I didn't want it to end. I'm rereading them all now and totally obsessed. Call/email/gchat/tweet me any time to discuss.

Hope you feel better! I say get a second opinion. Dizzyness sucks.

I'm sorry to hear that about your dizziness! I'll join the bandwagon supporting a second opinion.
