Legos and life sentences

On Friday I placed an order on the Lego website. The reason for which, I'll reveal later. (It's super awesome!) Also awesome is that, after you place an order, all the Legos are so excited for you!

I wonder what the story is behind the beaver hat.

You know those days when you're feeling ugly or like you have no sense of style and all it takes to make you feel better is to go to a public place and people watch? I have an awesome new solution for those days when you're just not feeling so smart: watch moronic people on TV.

Sure, there's the Kardashians or Toddlers and Tiaras or any of the Real Housewives shows, but Netflix has opened up a whole new world of idiots! I'm a fan of Investigation Discovery shows and yesterday I discovered a fabulous show called Prison Wives. These people are effing crazy. CA-RAZY!

One woman's husband cheated on her with his ex-wife the day they were all supposed to go on the Jerry Springer show (yeah). The day the show was to air, the ex-wife was found maliciously murdered and her blood was found on his shoes. BUT he still claims he's innocent and so does his wife. This is just one of the fabulously batshit stories.

One dude divorced his wife in order to marry a woman serving a life sentence in prison. He kept a mannequin wearing a wedding dress in a room of his house so he could feel like she was there with him.

Seriously. If you're feeling a little DUH, I highly recommend this show.

My scone!

Yesterday I did something I've never done before.

I ate a scone.

I ate a delicious blueberry scone, and in that moment, it's all I wanted to eat for the rest of my life. But then I realized that was probably my inner carbivore talking and didn't eat one for lunch, dinner, and snacks the rest of the day like I originally wanted to. I did, however, decide that I want to try my hand at making scones this weekend.

On a side note, just the word "scone" keeps reminding me of this scene from FRIENDS. (Basically every situation in life reminds me of a scene from FRIENDS, so this isn't exactly shocking).

I remembered around the holidays when Gina mentioned her proudest moment in the kitchen was when she made her delicious-looking pomegranate orange scones, and I've decided I'm going to try out this recipe. Since I'm a wimp when it comes to seeds, though, I think I'm going to sub the pomegranate arils for fresh cranberries instead (Gina's suggestion). Review to come on Monday :)

My mouth is watering!

Last week I put in an order from Amazon for more bags for shipping items from my shop. The cost of the bags was around $13 and the shipping cost was around $12. Since I'm a cheapskate, there's no way in poop I was going to pay that amount for shipping. I realized it was cheaper for me to add another item to my order to get the free shipping than it was for me to pay this shipping charge, so I finally ordered an item that's been on my wish list for a long long time.

The New Rules of Lifting for Women

I realized this week that I do what I can to "get through" the cardio part of workouts to get to the weights and other fun stuff, so I'm psyched to delve into this book...and to get my awesome shoulders back :)

And now, because I know you've been missing cute dog photos, here's one for you.

Hi Mom, this is a nice chair. Hey, where'd Rocco go?

Also, I learned a lesson.

Never wash your sports bra with a fluffy blanket.

Don't say I never told ya.

Noodles

Why wear boring band-aids when you can wear a Blue's Clues band-aid?

Don't worry, this is the side of my torso. I don't take XXX photos.

I'd actually be wearing a way more fun band-aid, like the Muppets or Fraggle Rock, but I don't have any of those (and I don't think Fraggle Rock band-aids even exist. It's a crime, I tell you).

And now, a disturbing trend. For some reason, the most searched term "of all time" to lead people to my blog is capybara. Like, by a LOT. It's completely Sarah's fault. I can't remember why, but it totally is.

capybara and Spuds Mackenzie. WTH??

If you have a blog, do you have a strange search term that's been leading people to your blog? I really want to try to change it to something different, like, noodle. Noodle noodle noodle.

NOODLES!

Think that'll do it? :)

This weekend I've got 11 miles on the schedule. It'll be another PDR if I get it done. I need good vibes. These long runs are really getting to me.

I think I can I think I can...

I would be the worst nurse ever

This morning I had a doctor appointment and instead of leaving myself enough time to eat breakfast and get everything done before the appointment, I left enough time to take care of Pippi and rush out the door. I had enough time to choke down a cup of yogurt and that's all. If you know me at all, you know a cup of yogurt for breakfast it just a tease.
My new obsession. Too bad I didn't get to taste it.

So I'm sitting, waiting for the doctor for what seemed like forever, all the while listening to my stomach growl. I met with the nurse, then the doctor, then another doctor, then the nurse again, before the doctor came in to do the procedure/remove two moles. Even though I knew exactly what they were doing and felt no pain, I still knew what they were doing, and I could feel my heart rate rising/internal panic.

Beaker: the poster child of panic.

By the time it was over with, I was nauseous and feeling shaky. I didn't really think anything of it until I was paying and things started to get fuzzy and black. I've given blood enough times to know what comes next and I really didn't want to pass out there and be stuck there for longer while they "monitored" me. After paying, I went to open the door and I was sure it was locked. I pushed and pulled and nothing. Thankfully someone was coming in just as I was leaving and they got the door for me. As soon as I got to my car I laid the seat down and after a few minutes I was fine.

The point of this post? (Yes, I have a point. Shut up). I don't know how nurses do it. I can't even think about a medical procedure being done to me without getting queasy, and I wasn't even watching! How in the WORLD do you do it?!
