A day of decisions

Let's get the bummy news out of the way first. I am, once again, single. Sorry folks, the HGG era, while short, has ended.

The most epic "sad" photo I could find.

HOWEVER (If you're a fan of FRIENDS, you know that's a fancy "but"), I also have fun news.

I'm not sure how it all went down, but on Sunday Alyssa is running the Lower Potomac River Marathon and Kara is running the last six miles with her. And, spur of the minute, I decided to join them for the last six. Of course they both are still trying to get me to register for and run the entire marathon, but seeing how much pain I was in after my half, I can tell you that ain't happenin'. Plus, I get my six miles in, get to run with friends, AND I don't have to pay for it. BAM. BOOM. KAPOW!

And also, because apparently I'm feeling extra ballsy today, I just registered for the Hartford Half Marathon in October!

Kari and Alyssa are both running this race (except they're both very advanced and are doing the full marathon). I know I had decided before that I wasn't going to do it, but I'm making some... "financial changes" in order to justify what it's going to cost me in airfare and to register.

Not only does that mean I get to see Alyssa like three times this year, but I also get to see Kari and Bungee AND go to Connecticut AND see Kara, Faith, and Peanut! I think this totally gives us BFF status. Totally worth the cost, no question.

And, since I'm at work right now, I will share the other good news for tomorrow. Wee!

I leave you with something to ponder.
Don't take away my wings!

    1. I realized this morning that this means I get to see your goose lamp in person. Is it weird that I remember that and that I'm excited about it?

  2. I want to run the Hartford Half b/c I love the "castle" medal!

Are you a designer? Me too! Although, Comic Sans doesn't bother me nearly as much as some of the others. The is a restaurant on Broadway that used Curlz MT. . It kills me every time!

    1. I AM a designer! I think comic sans hurts me so much because my mom uses it in all her emails. And my gynecologist uses it for important papers. Bad design hurts my heart. Curlz is just as bad!

    1. I know. I only wish that was my banana and I had taken the picture. Sad bananas are awesome.

  6. I'm with Kara, this post is amazing. It fills me with happiness. I don't get the font thing though. Why is it so bad?

I don't remember trying to get you to register for the full, just ASKING if you were going to do it.

Get some funny jokes and stories ready to share for the last six miles. Kara already has her conversation assignment.

    1. Oh but you secretly wanted me to say that I'm running it. That counts.

Funny jokes and stories. I'll have to think of some more SIL stories. Those are always good conversation starters!

  8. Sorry to hear about your current status...at least you found a new love for weights. You are a crazy racing lady... I need to find a next race to run sometime this spring after my trail half in 2 weeks. One I can actually try to PR in.

  9. I've been playing with the idea of doing the hartford half as well - does it usually sell out?

  10. Darn it. I loved the two signs at the bridge, but, I forgot to pay attention to whether they had pretty serifs or not.

Guess I need to go find someone's blog who has actually put up photos of them, and look at them again. No pressure here, but, I'm observing, *your* blog doesn't have any weekend photos up. Other people'ses' blogs do. Just sayin'.

    1. Ha! I had to drive 5 hours home today. Blogging while driving is frowned upon. Check back tomorrow.
