Jealous of the dogs' lives

Ever wonder what dogs do during the day when you're gone?

I was working at home yesterday, so I spent most of the day sitting at the table, meaning they took a break from their normal following me around every single place I go routine, to get a LOT of sleep. I mean geez, who wouldn't want this life?!

Hearing all these stories about people running and working out in the morning is making me miss my morning workouts. Tomorrow afternoon I'm having a procedure done which will leave me immobile through Thursday (hopefully not longer than that or I may burst), so my plan is to wake up early and do a workout video, just like in the old times when waking up early was my "thing". It's been pretty difficult just getting out of bed lately, but I want to change that.

Since I'm afraid of running outside in the dark, I'm going the workout video route in the mornings. Andrea informed me today on her blog that research shows it takes 66 days for something to become a habit. I'm hoping that I'm not the "norm" and it will take me, like, two days. I mean, I used to do it several times a week, so for me it shouldn't take as long, right?

On a side note, head over to Kari's blog and enter her Noodle Hugger giveaway!

  1. Should be just like riding a bike, right? Once you start again it will all come back to you. Hope you have a quick recovery and your procedure doesn't leave you out of commission too long.

  4. I witness my dogs doing the same things all day when I am working from home. The dogs now are laid out in the room with me waiting for me to drop an apple. Not happening.

I hope this mysterious procedure helps with dizziness.

  5. Oh - and I forgot - does Pippi seriously have the cutest ears ever? How many dogs have such adorable spots in their ears? Makes it hard to be mad at her, I bet!

  9. Your totally already programmed to get up, it will be super easy. Especially for a workout video, since you don't even have to leave the house. Good luck!

  11. They are so stinkin cute! So funny how dogs follow us like that. 66 days now for a habit? I thought it was 21 or something shorter. Boo.
    Yay for Noodle Huggers!

  12. Whatever magic poop spewing disease Pippi had was magically transmitted through the series of tubes we call the internet to Delilah's butt. She basically sleeps and poops right now. And I agree with Kari, although I am cheap and just ran where there were mediocre street lamps with my little handheld pepper spray. Oh, but bright reflective colors are definitely your friend.

  13. Such a tough life for those guys! My cats barely move at all during the day, and then run around like mad at night.

  14. Our two dogs do a lot of this same stuff during the day but I must say the standing at the front door and watching is one of their favorites!
