And that's why I don't rule the world.

I haven't ran in two days and I'm currently eating banana bread for dinner. No, I don't feel bad about it. Judge if you must.

I'm feeling the pangs of why it sucks to live far away from your family. When something bad (or wonderful) happens, giving yourself a big hug just doesn't cut it. Plus it kind of makes you look like a huge loser.

A little bit like this but not really.

Yesterday morning while my stepdad was taking his and my mom's dog (Abby) for a walk, a vicious dog ran up and attacked Abby. Abby had to have emergency surgery to fix multiple puncture wounds around her neck and my stepdad, who was bitten in the hand, had to have seven shots because the dog's drunk owner took off with his dog before they could get the dog's history.

How are idiots like this allowed in this world? I've decided that before people are allowed to procreate, there should be an IQ test and if their child is in danger of being a fucktard, they shouldn't be allowed to conceive. This is probably why I'm not the ruler of the world.

I talked to my mom earlier today and referred to the guy as an asshole. And I didn't get grounded. Being an adult FTW!

Like saying "shit" without being punished.

I really wish I could be with them right now. Thankfully everyone's at home healing and MAN do I hope karma finds that douche-bag. (I've decided he's got many nicknames).

Dear Karma, do it for Abby.

Also, this morning while in a meeting my purple pen ran out of ink and AND I had to wake up and go to work today. Life is so unfair!

The mistake that won't go away

Unfortunately, they keep coming back to haunt me!

So I had a pretty awesome weekend, however one thing happened that's been taking over my brain and I want it to go away!

A few years ago, I was dating a guy that I really liked (and the feeling seemed mutual). It ended up being a long-distance thing. I'd get mixed messages from him talking about "when we get married..."  and then, "putting a ring on a girls' finger is suicide". Talk about an emotional roller-coaster. Oh and also, we never really put a title on the relationship. I'll never make that mistake again!

So anyhow, I had introduced him to my best friend, which is like, woah. I'm more afraid of introducing guys to her than to my parents! She liked him (which is also like woah) and ended up "friending" him on Facebook. Well, as all things with me and guys eventually do, it all went sour. I began to realize I wasn't being treated like I should and broke off communication. I also stopped following him on Facebook (duh). Since it was long distance and he wasn't trying to communicate with me on a regular basis anymore, I figured this was the best solution. Just move on.

How lovely it would be to just behead certain people.

Fast forward to yesterday. I have decided to become a coupon person. I'm too poor not to, really. Instead of using my regular email addresses for coupon-related things, I've decided to use an old one that I had only used to communicate with the dude. This way I can just "delete all" when I get a bunch of coupon spam. Well, I hadn't gotten rid of all the emails with dude yet and was being taken back in time reading them while trying to delete them. (I can't "delete all" on my iPod, unfortunately). I told my friend what I was trying to do and her response was, "oh, he's definitely engaged. I saw it on Facebook".

Wait wait wait a second. Did I ask for his relationship status? Did I want to know anything about him at this point? NO! In situations like this I prefer to live blissfully unaware. But noooOOoo. I just wanted to rewind the moment and not have said anything. But instead, I had all kinds of dreams about him last night. DAMMIT! If you have any ideas on how to make them go away, please share!

WARNING: If you or someone you know has any information about any guys that I've dated in the past, keep it to yourself. Or I may be forced to behead you.

"Momma I will always love you like I love the warm, sunny spot on the floor."

I'm not a huge Carrie Underwood fan, but I do love the line in one of her songs that says,"The more boys I meet, the more I love my dog." I'm pretty sure I repeated that song five times on my run on Saturday!

Life's not fair

Sorry, kids, you have to wait another day for my giveaway. I'm just mean like that.

No, not really. My computer (I use my work laptop for just about everything, including blogging) took a dump on my day this morning. It's currently in the magical land beyond the rainbow where all broken computers go to get fixed. I'm currently on my "old" computer (which was replaced back in January and has been sitting around here for 8 months. I asked if I could buy it to have as my home computer, instead of having it go wherever they take old electronics to die, but was denied. They'd rather it just sit and collect dust in a storage room somewhere. Makes sense, right?) and I'm hating it.

I'd be way more bummed than I am, except that today is my best friend's third wedding anniversary and, since her husband is working tonight, she asked if I wanted to have dinner and get pedicures with her. Uhm...YES! Oh, she is also 8.9999 months pregnant, and you just don't say no to a woman in that state.

This has nothing to do with anything except it's kinda funny.

I'm a little concerned about the condition that my feet are in. Ok, truth be told, I'm not so much concerned as I am...embarrassed? No, that's not the word. Hmm...I feel sorry for the poor soul who has to try and make these puppies look decent. Yeah, that's exactly what I'm feeling.

Running, while addicting and awesome, does not give you pretty piggies.

I'm pretty sure they make running shoes so detailed to detract from what's inside.

This weekend, since it was a bit chilly out, I wore a pair of my older running shoes to run errands in instead of my flip flops. As soon as I put my foot into one, I could tell they were way too narrow for me for. And I'd been wearing that brand for...uhh...how many years?? By the time I got home, my foot was throbbing in pain. This is when I decided I'm recycling all of my older shoes (most are completely worn our anyway) and buying a cheap (older style) pair of Brooks neutral running shoes for non-running activities. I got a great deal, and guess what color they are.

Last pair in my size! It was totally meant to be.

I'm totally looking forward to the calf massage. My calves are still on fire and I'm not sure what from. Running hills? But I'd imagine my thighs would be hurting if that were the case. Anywho, it should make for a fun story.

And now, I will promise you, giveaway tomorrow! Get excited! :)

Motivations

Have you noticed? Up ^ there, my new tab, Motivations?

I've decided lately I'm in a bit of a rut and it would be nice to have some words and pictures to up my motivation. Yesterday, I found this quote

source

and, at the risk of sounding cheesy, it helped me through that point in my workout when my brain started to go to the place of, "if I stop now, no one will care!"..except that I would later on, when that feeling of failure hits me smack in the middle of the head. I remembered this quote and focused on reaching that line between comfortable and "ugh". It's one of those things you don't understand in the moment, but later on you just feel so accomplished knowing you pushed through. And it was awesome.

I even decided that, this weekend, I WILL run! It will probably only be two miles, but you have to (re)start somewhere!

I also found another favorite, to motivate me through work today

source

"Beautiful" may be going a tad overboard, but there's always the thinking of, "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." I have no idea who to attribute that quote to, but I've heard it so many times it must be true. Although, stars are prettier than the moon. What happens if I shoot for the stars and miss?

Anyhow, happy hump day! Any current motivations to share?

Also, guys, I've had seven followers for like, well...ever. I appreciate the time you all take to come watch me ramble and sputter out words. Do me a favor? Talk me up? ;-)

The ex factor

This is probably a faux pas thing to post about, but I'ma do it anyway. Livin' on the edge, my friends.

I know you're not supposed to regret anything in life because you learn from every circumstance...blah blah blah. But lately I'm realizing something I never should have done, all those years ago...start dating someone who is friends with someone I'm close to (like my brother). It's true that, from every bad relationship you learn something. I've learned tons (literally) of things that I don't want in a relationship this way. The only problem with this logic is that, after you realize this person isn't "the one," their friendship with your brother is still in tact, so you still get to hear all about them AND sometimes see them, too. Yippee!

I don't mind talking to people I've dated, don't get me wrong. I've never had a breakup that resulted in hatred. It's just that I don't want to hear about random tidbits of their life (like who they're dating, have dated, or hope to date). Unfortunately, because of my circumstances, I get to hear these things all the time. I normally excuse myself and go somewhere else. The hint hasn't been taken yet. You know what's also fun? When two of them show up at a party that your brother is having.(Hi, rock. Mind if I crawl under you?)

And now...awful dating stories! (because they're just fun...only because they're in the past)
  • I once was dumped by a guy because, according to him, he was moving away for the summer. We worked at the same place and he was there the whole Summer.
  • I had the boyfriend with all the friends that were girls, but I couldn't talk to a guy friend without him thinking something was going on.
  • There's the guy who took longer to get ready to go out than I did
  • The guy who would ask me to come over and then spend all his time watching ESPN
  • I had a boyfriend who would talk about "our future" and then discuss with me all the reasons why marriage and having children are a bad thing.

Any bad date stories to share?

And now, today's featured (by me) dog for adoption is Roxy

I told Jeremy and Amanda about her, and they have decided I need to adopt her or another dog named Roxy, since their dog looks really similar and is named Rocco.

She was found in the middle of a busy intersection and was taken in. I'm pretty sure I'd adopt them all if I had the money, space, time, and help.
