Well crap.

As I've mentioned, for the past month I've been having this problem with feeling dizzy, lightheaded, and "fuzzy" during machine cardio and intense workouts. Since I've been working out consistently for almost half my life and I haven't done anything differently recently with diet, exercise, sleep, or anything else, I know something's not right.

Because I'm stubborn, I've been in denial hoping it would just get better. I don't want to pay the $25 copay to go to the doctor and have her tell me nothing's wrong (like that time I had a sore throat, killer headache, and laryngitis, and she told me it's a virus and she couldn't help me..I could hear the $25 being flushed down the toilet).

Well, new development. One day last week at the gym I took my headphones out of my ears and I had a dull pain in my left ear. I figured it was just a fluke from my in-ear headphone rubbing my ear or something similar. Then, during my kickboxing workout on Sunday whenever I turned my head to the right, the pain returned in my left ear. Yesterday during turbokick it began to be excruciating and then when I put my head down on my pillow last night on the left side....OWWW!

This morning I did something I don't like to do. I went online with my symptoms. I really want to know if these two things are related. Here's what I found:
"Due to the proximity of the inner ear to the brain, if you experience any pain, dizziness or imbalance linked to the inner ear then you should consult your GP immediately. Deafness can result with problems linked to the inner ear."
Yep, that's why I don't like the "diagnose me" websites. It's a good thing I've already made an appointment with my doctor for tomorrow morning. Hopefully the deafness will wait to kick in until after I can hear her diagnosis.

And now, onto something that I've got to share because it totally made me laugh out loud this morning. Jeremy and Amanda went to Petsmart yesterday and bought a few toys; a couple were to replace ones I bought Pippi that Rocco had decided to destroy and a couple Nylabones and balls. Yes, BALLS! BALLS BALLS BALLS :) Which BALLS did they buy?

Yes, I know. I appreciate the humor of a 12-year-old boy. This made my morning.

  1. Peanut will only use the tennis balls that squeak in pain when she bites them. She's such an angry lesbian.

I hope your ears are ok!!

  2. I don't know how to tell you this, but the internet told me you have ear cancer. WebMD always says it's cancer. I'm kidding, but hopefully it's nothing major and they can fix you up with antibiotics or something equally mundane!

  3. Glad you made an appointment! Hopefully there is something (so that you don't feel you wasted your money AND so it can be treated and you'll feel better!) but hopefully it's nothing major!

  4. I love WebMD and Mayo Clinic. I always self-diagnose myself with horrible diseases via the internet, even when I know I have a simple sinus headache. I figure that if I get sick enough to go to the doctor and I have convinced myself that I have ear cancer and it turns out to only be an outer ear infection, then I'm less likely to curse the drugs they give me to fix the minor things.
