A Week of Workout DVDs

Every now and then, I like to try something new and switch up my workouts a bit. Since the running bug hasn't hit me yet this year, and the gym on campus where I take my group fitness classes is closed this week, I've decided to do "A week of workout DVDs". I've been wanting to add reviews for all the ones that I own (for anyone interested, and also for my own knowledge. I've never gone about really breaking them down before), and I figure this is a good way to switch up my workouts for a week AND do reviews.

I didn't realize how many workout DVDs I actually have until I started looking them up to post below, but since I know which ones don't offer as much of a cardio workout as I'd like, and a few have two or even three workouts per DVD, with increasing levels of intensity, I'll most likely double up the DVDs a few days. I did one with my sister-in-law last week and when it was over, I put myself through some extra cardio. I figure if I can keep going, I haven't yet had enough. (This is a DVD after which I was in pain walking up stairs the first time I did it!)

Below is my list of workout DVDs. I haven't yet decided on the order in which I'll do them. I think it'll be a surprise. My goal is to do them all in a week and review them as I go.

Put on a shirt!

Jillian Michaels: No More Trouble Zones

No, really. Shirt Please.

Jillian Michaels: 30 Day Shred

I've got one you can borrow.
Actually, scratch that. I don't
want it back.

Jillian Michaels: Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism

Yo, it's called a "bra" for a
reason.

Women's Health: The Wedding Workout

No, it's not a ten-minute
workout. False advertising.

Women's Health: Total Workout in Ten

"Perfect" may be a stretch.

Women's Health: Perfect Body Workout

I like this girl. She knows how
to WEAR A SHIRT!

Women's Health: Ultimate Fat Burn

Look at J's smug little face.
And Bob is one attractive
man. I'm not too keen on how
they made him look evil here.

The Biggest Loser Workout: Cardio Max

...and here.

Bob Harper: Pure Burn Super Strength

 Bob Harper: Cardio Conditioning

I also own a Biggest Loser weight loss yoga DVD, but I don't think I'll include it in this challenge. I'll do that one on day 8 to recover. There are TEN DVDs here. I better choose each day wisely.

Wish me luck!

  1. I love that you not only read wedding magazines, but you also have wedding workout videos? That's hilarious :)

  2. Haha...I got it a while ago before I had my gym membership because it's a full-body workout and, to be fair, the front says it's "for your big day, or any special event". I can just consider every day a special event and then *ta da* I just justified buying it!
